Happy Horses, Happy Riders

Positive reinforcement training for equines and their caretakes at every stage of life. My goal is to improve the welfare of equines around the world.

Fall in love with your horse again

Being an equid owner is more than just owning another pet; it's a passion that drives us to discomfort and fatigue. It includes a lot of pressure from our trainers, friends, family and equine's care team. Some days we don't even get to spend time with our hooved friends, we just sweat or freeze making sure their basic needs are met and complete the exercise our trainer told us we need to do.

I'm here to help you fall in love with your equine again. Whether you compete at an international level or have a pasture pet in your backyard, I want to help you capture every moment of joy you can with your equid friend(s).

Through private training, clinics and online group training, we'll make pony time fun for both of you. Not only will you achieve some amazing training goals, you'll feel closer than ever to your equine(s).

We have horses, donkeys, mules and other exotic equids to bring happiness to our lives. Let's fall back in love with these majestic animals together.

About Me

Erin Maloney, Certified Trainer and Counselor

Helping you and your equine live your best lives

I live on my farm in Canton, Ohio with my husband, dogs Sadie and Strider and horses Comet and River. I train equines and canines in-person and virtually. My husband and I also raise beef cattle and chickens on our farm. My mare, River, started me on this journey to help others train their horses without force and ensure they have properly fit saddles that don't cause pain.

While learning to ride, I remember asking why treats are not used to train horses, like many people use with dogs. My riding instructor's response was "we just don't do that." That answer never sat right with me. When I adopted River from a local rescue I started to figure out I can use treats to train her! Not only that, she enjoyed the training and learned faster when treats were involved instead of traditional pressure/release techniques!

She was injured the first year I had her and it took about 2 years to fully rehabilitate her. I went down the rabbit hole of hoof care, diet, rehabilitation exercises, day-to-day life and welfare including optimal turn-out, and saddle fitting. I have learned so much and am excited to start helping riders and horses ride pain-free once I'm a Certified Equine Ergonomist!
